Remon Keriakos teaching

Mr Remon Keriakos, founder of the Sheffield Perineal Repair Course, is a highly respected consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Mr Keriakos has over 30 years of clinical experience in his field. He established the course in 2002, which was one of the first UK courses dedicated to advanced perineal repair techniques.

Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to clinical practice, research, and medical education—particularly in the field of perineal tear repair.

Why a Perineal Repair Course?

In 2002, Mr Keriakos identified a clear need for high-quality, practical training in perineal repair. This led to the creation of the Sheffield Perineal Repair Course, designed to provide hands-on experience for healthcare professionals.

The course focuses on developing the essential skills required to effectively manage 3rd and 4th degree tears. Under his leadership, it has grown into a leading training programme, helping clinicians improve both their surgical ability and clinical confidence.

Innovation in Medical Education

Mr Keriakos is also the creator of the Keriakos Trainer, an innovative teaching tool developed to support learning in perineal repair.

This trainer allows participants to practise key techniques in a controlled environment before progressing to animal tissue models. It plays a vital role in the course, helping delegates build confidence and refine their skills in a realistic and supportive setting.
